one-stop-portal-for-phd-and-post-doctoral-fellowships-launched-by-centre

A common fellowship portal was opened for students aspiring for doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships across various government departments for simplifying the process. Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh introduced the initiative on Tuesday.

Singh emphasized the significance of the newly launched common fellowship portal, accessible at fellowships.gov.in, as a time-saving and efficient platform for students and startups alike.

This initiative is designed to simplify the application process, thereby saving applicants time and energy.

Applicants are now empowered to create their profiles on the portal, which can then be utilised to autofill multiple fellowship applications, streamlining the entire process.

"This portal will help all applicants by reducing their time and energy by getting full information and submission of applications at a single place by the click of a mouse," said Singh, as reported by PTI.

The portal is equipped with an 'Eligibility Calculator', allowing applicants to ascertain their eligibility for various fellowship schemes by inputting specific details.

Singh emphasised the collaborative effort involved, mentioning the involvement of departments under the Ministry of Science and Technology, including the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Biotechnology, and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

Additionally, plans are underway to integrate application forms from other departments such as the Indian Council of Medical Research, the University Grants Commission, and the All India Council for Technical Education onto the portal.
