ias-puja-khedkar-moves-court-to-court-for-anticipatory-bail

Days after the Delhi Police booked IAS probationer Puja Khedkar for allegedly “faking her identity to fraudulently avail attempts beyond permissible limit” in the civil services examination, on Monday she moved an application for “anticipatory bail” in a Delhi Court and the arguments on her bail application will be on Tuesday.

Khedkar, 32, who joined the Pune Collectorate as part of her probationary training in June 2024, faces allegations of misusing quotas under Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Persons With Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) to clear the civil services examination.

Earlier this month, the Union Public Service Commission (UPCS) had registered an FIR against Khedkar and also issued a show cause notice to her on the cancellation of her selection and barring her from future examinations.

Additional Sessions Judge, Patiala House Courts, Devender Kumar Jangala, in his order issued on July 27 said, “An application under Section 338 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 for allowing to file objection and assisting the Additional Public Prosecutor is moved, on behalf of the complainant."
