Gujarat government launches Rs1650 crore schemes for students
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched two schemes on Saturday to provide financial assistance to students from Classes 9 to 12. The government has allocated Rs 1,650 crore for these schemes in the state budget.
Under the ''Namo Lakshmi Yogana,'' girls studying in Classes 9 to 12 will receive Rs 50,000 over four years. Additionally, both girls and boys who have opted for the science stream in Classes 11 and 12 will get Rs 25,000 under the ''Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana.''
For students in Classes 11 and 12, the Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana will provide Rs 750 per month for 10 months each year, with an additional Rs 15,000 after passing the Class 12 board exam. Girls studying in Class 11 and 12 science will benefit from both schemes, regardless of family income.
