CBSE mandates 75% attendance for Class 10, 12 exams in 2025
The exam conducting body, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official notification to principals and heads of CBSE-affiliated schools, emphasizing the strict enforcement of the 75 percent attendance rule for Class 10 and 12 students appearing in the 2025 board examinations.
The directive reinforces the adherence to Rules 13 and 14 of the CBSE Examination Bye-Laws, highlighting the importance of student attendance.
According to the Board’s guidelines, students must maintain at least 75 percent attendance to be eligible for the board exams. Exceptions, however, may be made in certain situations such as medical emergencies, participation in national or international sports events, or other significant reasons, provided valid documentation is submitted to the Board. In such cases, students may receive up to a 25 percent attendance relaxation.
