Atishi Marlena, says, Delhi Schools will now be at par with private schools
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi declared a significant transformation in government schools, highlighting their rise to match private institutions' standards over the past decade. Speaking at the inauguration of a new academic block at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Mukundpur Village, she attributed this success to the AAP government's relentless focus on education.
The four-storey academic block boasts 36 modern classrooms, three state-of-the-art laboratories, and a principal’s office. Atishi noted that such facilities surpass even those in private schools, saying, "I studied in a big private school. But even there, we did not have such a well-equipped geography lab."
The new building is set to benefit around 1,000 students from Samta Vihar and Mukundpur Village. Atishi expressed confidence that the improved infrastructure would significantly enhance the quality of learning, addressing earlier challenges like overcrowded classrooms.
The AAP government has built over 22,000 classrooms in the past decade, surpassing decades of previous efforts. Atishi emphasised the progress made in empowering students, stating, "There was a time when students were not even allowed to touch lab equipment. Today, they confidently explain its use, reflecting the progress in our education system."
She credited the people of Delhi for choosing a government that prioritises education, making it possible to turn the once-distant dream of quality government schools into reality.
