University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya has been awarded the Industry Education Award 2024 by QNEXTT Pune. The award has been given for its contributions to quality practices by creating very good linkages with Industry and initiating startups by tribal women of Mizoram and Nagaland.

The award was handed over to Prof. G. D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of USTM on Saturday, 20th April 2024 in CPHR Services Pvt Ltd Pune Leadership Award ceremony. Representatives from different Corporate leadership from India, South Korea, and South Africa attended the program in Pune.

Addressing the award ceremony, Dr Mohammed Bawaji, Founder and Managing Director of CPHR Services India, a Pune-based renowned HR Company, highly appreciated the contributions made by USTM to create a new approach to providing opportunities to the students of North East India.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof GD Sharma emphasized the changing scenario of higher education under NEP 2020. He said that now internship, experiential, and project-based learning under a multidisciplinary approach is giving better scope to the students to choose courses as per their choices and potential.

The USTM VC, who is also the President of the Association of Indian Universities New Delhi was invited by QNEXTT international HR Industry Pune to address the CPHR Services Pvt Ltd Pune Leadership Award ceremony.
