The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially kick-started the counselling process for admissions into undergraduate engineering courses across IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) from today, June 3, 2025.

Eligible candidates who have qualified for JEE Main or JEE Advanced can now register and submit their choices for institutes and courses on the official JoSAA portal — josaa.nic.in. The registration and choice-filling window will remain open until 5 pm on June 12, 2025.

IMPORTANT DATES AND SCHEDULE

The JoSAA counselling will take place over six rounds, with the final round of seat allotment results expected to be released on July 16, 2025.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

• Mark sheets of Class 10 and 12
• JEE Main/Advanced admit card and rank card
• Caste or category certificate (if applicable, issued after April 1, 2025, for OBC-NCL or EWS categories)
• A cancelled cheque or bank account details for refund processing
• Medical certificate

• Visit the josaa.nic.in and log in using your JEE Main or JEE Advanced credentials.
• Complete the OTP verification sent to your registered mobile number.
• Choose and rank your preferred institutions and courses.
• Make sure to lock your choices before 5 PM on June 12, as no changes will be allowed post-deadline.

SEAT ALLOCATION PROCESS

The seat allotment is based on several key factors including:

• Candidate’s category rank (General, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD)
• Performance in JEE Main or Advanced
• Preferences filled during choice submission
