JKBOSE Issues Revised Datesheet for Class 10 Exams Amid Assembly Bye-Elections
Exams rescheduled to ensure smooth conduct; schools directed to follow JKBOSE-prescribed textbooks
Srinagar, November 6, 2025:
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released a revised datesheet for the Class 10 Annual/Regular Examinations (October–November 2025 session) for students in the winter-zone areas, following the announcement of Assembly bye-elections in select constituencies.
According to the updated schedule, the Science examination has been rescheduled to November 11, while the Social Science paper will now be held on November 26. The board also clarified that no examinations will be conducted on November 7 and 14, as bye-elections in Budgam and Nagrota are slated around that period.
Other major subject exams remain unchanged — English on November 20, Urdu/Hindi on November 17, and Computer Science on November 19. The examination session will commence on November 6 with various vocational subjects.
In its official notification, JKBOSE stated,
“It is hereby notified for information of all the stakeholders in general and the students of Class 10 in particular that the date sheet for Secondary School Examination (Class 10th) Annual/Regular, 2025 (Oct–Nov session), has been revised in view of Assembly bye-elections.”
Students can download the revised schedule in PDF format from the board’s official website — www.jkbose.nic.in.
JKBOSE Directs Schools to Implement Prescribed Textbooks
In a separate development, JKBOSE has issued a directive to all privately affiliated schools to fully adopt its curriculum and prescribed textbooks for Classes 1 to 10.
The board emphasized that JKBOSE textbooks are readily available at its Srinagar and Jammu divisional offices, as well as at registered bookshops across districts. It added that the textbooks are designed to be affordable, student-friendly, and aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, incorporating contextualised NCERT content to promote conceptual clarity, competency-based learning, and uniform educational quality across the Union Territory.
With these measures, JKBOSE aims to ensure a smooth and standardized academic environment while maintaining fairness and convenience during the examination process.
