wbjeeb-2025-result-delayed-due-to-a-calcutta-hc-stay
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) is expected to announce the WBJEE 2025 result soon on its official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. However, the result has been delayed due to a Calcutta HC stay on the new OBC list. Once released, students can download their rank cards from wbjeeb.nic.in using login credentials.

The Calcutta High Court has temporarily halted the implementation of West Bengal's new Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation list until July 31. This decision affects the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB), which has delayed releasing the WBJEE 2025 results due to the court's stay order. The results, initially ready since June 5, are now pending due to category-wise ranks being linked to the OBC list ¹.

Impact on Students:

- Uncertainty: Students are uncertain whether to wait for WBJEE results or accept seats offered through JEE, fearing potential loss of seats at prestigious institutions like IITs or NITs if they wait too long.
- Conflicting Priorities: Some students might miss the opportunity to secure a seat at Jadavpur University (JU) if they delay confirming a seat elsewhere.

Next Steps:

- Candidates are advised to regularly check the official WBJEEB website for updates on result declaration.
- The link to download results will be available on the website once officially released.

The court's decision stems from concerns over procedural irregularities in the preparation of the new OBC list, which included 140 sub-groups. The list's implementation remains paused until July 31, pending further court proceedings
